Glens Falls Business Journal - Press Release
Dockside Landing Boat and
Yacht Sales, a Lake George area boat dealer, announced the
addition of Back Cove Yachts to its lineup of Formula and Regal
sport boats and yachts.
“Dockside Landing’s marine operation encompasses over 30,000
square feet of indoor sales and storage space throughout our
three locations offering sales and service from the Hudson
Valley to the Canadian border,” said Jennifer Litwa, marketing
manager. “We are very excited to add Back Cove Yachts to our
extensive lineup,” Litwa said.
Back
Cove Yachts is a sister company of Sabre Yachts, which has
produced over 2,300 hulls since it was founded in 1970. Back
Cove originated in 2004 when Sabre purchased North End
Composites, a major mold and boat builder in Maine. The idea was
to provide and affordable alternative to the higher priced
“custom” Down East style yachts that have become popular.
Back
Cove’s are a high-quality single engine diesel yacht based on
Maine’s Down East style known for seaworthiness,
hand-craftsmanship, and masterfully designed interiors with
exquisite woodworking, Litwa said. The term “Down East” is
synonymous with the Maine Lobster Boat appearance, offering
stunning lines from its spoon bow to a sloping transom.
Every Back Cove model is built on a platform of safety,
reliability, anddependability combined with exceptional fuel
economy, the company said. Back Cove Yachts range in
length from 26 to 33 feet. Bentley Collins, vice president of
marketing and sales for Back Cove, is pleased with the
appointment of Dockside Landing as Back Cove’s exclusive dealer
for the Adirondack region. “We feel that Lake George and Lake
Champlain boaters will find the Back Cove style and simplicity
very appealing,” said Collins.
Dockside Landing is known for its success with Formula and most
recently, Regal. Formula boats are famous for their performance
and quality. According to the company, Formula is essentially
four boat companies in one: the Sun Sport series; of bowriders,
cuddys, and sport cruisers 24-40 feet; the PC series of cruisers
from 27-40 feet; the FasTech series of high-speed performance
boats from 27-38 feet; and the Yacht series of vessels 45-48
feet.
“As
many of you know, there are a lot of new Formulas on the water.
This is the next generation of boating,” said ay Craig Merrell,
owner of Dockside Landing. “People are tired of spending a lot
of money for mediocre performance and lackluster quality.
Formula Boats stand out from the crowd, offering a feeling of
quality and prestige that can’t be experienced in any other
boat.”
