Dockside Landing Marina Fuels Economic Development in
Upstate NY
Press
Release – Ticonderoga Storage Facility
At a time when most in the marine
industry are just happy to keep their heads above water,
Dockside Landing continues to grow at an unprecedented rate.
Dockside’s focus on customer service, premium products, and
exceptional value is the foundation for their incredible
success.
Dockside
recently acquired a 25,000 sq. ft. multi-purpose facility
located in the Ticonderoga Business Park in Ticonderoga, NY.
The building was constructed as an economic development tool to
help generate employment opportunities. According to Craig
Merrell, president of Dockside Landing, “Our business has been
growing by leaps and bounds and we simply needed more space.
The building and property are a great addition and allows us to
focus needed attention towards our Lake Champlain market, as
well as providing needed services for our Lake George
customers.”
Dockside
Landing’s original location is their marina located in the
northern basin of Lake George in Hague, NY; then in January 2002
they acquired an indoor showroom located in Lake George
Village. “The showroom in Lake George allowed us to get closer
to our core sales market and the new Ticonderoga facility allows
us to manage our business more efficiently and provide for
enhanced customer service. We offer the region’s only heated
storage – something our customers really appreciate. As you
know, boaters have a great deal of money invested in their boats
and it’s just not worth taking unnecessary risks by storing them
outside in the cold. Our temperature-controlled environment
provides protection from the constant temperature variation,
condensation, UV exposure, and the other problems that are
inherent when storing elsewhere.”
"The
large open floor-plan of the building is ideal for boat storage
(winter and summer), but the heated facility also makes a
perfect service facility and boat showroom. Our service team
can work year-round, reducing un-employment and helping to
relieve some of the spring and fall rush that is so
common to marinas in the northeast. The close proximity (less
than 3 miles) to Lake George and Lake Champlain is ideal,
providing easy access to both popular boating destinations.”
Dockside
Landing is proud to be the region’s exclusive dealer for
Formula, Larson, Sea Doo, Triumph, and Ski Centurion. “Our five
core boat manufacturers provide us with an incredible selection
of styles and models; we currently have over 100 new and used
boats in stock. We sell entry-level fishing boats starting at
less than $10,000 to luxury super-yachts in excess of $750,000,
and everything in between.”
Dale
French, Chairman of the Essex County Board of Supervisor’s noted
“In this current climate of economic instability this certainly
is a welcome commercial addition to Essex County and the Town of
Ticonderoga. A number of new jobs will be created and boat sales
and service will not only be a convenience for local boat
owners, but the anticipated revenues will be a big boost for the
local economy”.
